Styled Habitat’s first installation for Dubai Design Week is an apartment that nurtures our sense of nostalgia for ‘home’ - Saudade. 

Saudade is an emotive word. In this installation, it refers to a longing for something that is yet to happen, or a nostalgia for a treasured moment in the past. A design experience that offered visitors a glimpse into an imagined life, through a ‘home’ curated into moments, with objects carefully selected and assembled into vignettes. 

Styled Habitat studio’s values run through Saudade, celebrating nostalgia, a fleeting sensation captured through a visual journey of collated pieces, objets trouvé, layers of color, pattern, and texture. The atmosphere is familiar, yet foreign, the scenographies capturing the story of moments just passed or yet to come. With each moment waiting to be discovered while unlocking old memories and creating new ones - mirroring the alchemy of our relationship with personal spaces. 

Styled Habitat is recognized for its insight and attention to the nuances of the regional lifestyle. Authentic, connected, and human-centric, their designs typically reflect contemporary style, with cultured elements that pay homage to a multi-ethnic environment. 

Every object in the installation has been meticulously selected for its craft, integrity, and timelessness. Original pieces by Gubi and &tradition are sourced by Ikonhouse and combined with wall coverings and textiles by Dedar and rugs by The Rug Company are sourced by The Odd Piece. Collectible artworks in various mediums are provided by The Fine Art Group, and integrated into the storytelling by the design team at Styled Habitat.
