Styled Habitat's award-winning design studio in Dubai Design District has recently undergone a brand and interior refresh. Staying true to our design philosophy, we sought to enhance the connection between emotions and physical spaces by considering the user experience from all senses. This refresh was an opportunity to reflect on Styled Habitat's journey since 2016 and ensure that all aspects of the brand were truly represented.

After eight years, we knew it was time to evolve our brand identity, and collaborating with fellow creatives allowed us to reimagine our direction in a way that remained true to our roots while expanding our vision. To bring this vision to life, we collaborated with longtime friend and creative partner Lulu Abu Dheays of This is Temporary Studio, Australia.

Once aligned on the brand refresh, we introduced a series of subtle interior updates to the studio. The original layout, designed to guide visitors through a thoughtful journey of open and closed spaces, remained largely unchanged. Each zone flows seamlessly into the next, maintaining a sense of openness and visual connection. Carefully chosen materials, textures, and furnishings create a warm and comfortable ambiance where vintage charm and contemporary sophistication co-exist harmoniously.

Staying true to our design ethos, with a keen eye for materiality and a thoughtful juxtaposition of styles, we clad the entry wall in a tactile silk and linen wallpaper by Dedar and installed our new font logo in a rich oiled bronze finish. Our existing sofa was reupholstered in plush velvet to complement the chosen wallpaper and highlight the new brand color. A vintage Afghani rug was added as an anchoring piece for the seating attunement in the open lounge, while two Piloti Stone tables by Fredericia and a Triss Coffee Table by Modu Method were introduced for added flexibility and versatility. Lastly, we added a pair of Utrecht Armchairs in grainy leather by Gerrit Thomas Rietveld and an oversized Bollicosa pendant by Cassina to complete the look.

Maintaining the studio’s inviting and personal atmosphere was essential. To further this, we brought in additional indoor plants to enhance the sense of calm and contemplation. The result is an airy environment that encourages a sense of calm, creativity, and contemplation. A carefully curated mix of color, pattern, and texture guides visitors through a layered and inspiring visual journey.

The studio’s design continues to reflect Styled Habitat’s signature design language, a seamless blend of multicultural influences, refined minimalism, and timeless sophistication. The space is a true embodiment of the SH aesthetic: sublimely idiosyncratic, warm, and intentional.

Today, the studio refresh stands as a personification of understated elegance and sophistication. It reflects our ongoing commitment to creating interiors that are not only functional and aesthetically pleasing, but also spaces that foster inspiration, connection, and a sense of belonging.
